Director of Municipal Administration P. Madhusudhan Reddy reviewed the progress of various developmental works being executed by the Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MAWS) Department in Cuddalore on Saturday (October 25, 2025).

A press release said Mr. Reddy held discussions on the progress of various ongoing works, including the underground drainage system being executed in 12 wards in Cuddalore Corporation. Pipelines are being laid to a length of 148.70 km and will benefit 14,134 households

He directed the officials to ensure timely completion of work with minimum inconvenience to the public by restoring the roads, damaged by sewer laying at the earliest.

The Director also reviewed the progress of construction of 122 shops in the Anna market at an estimated cost of ₹5.03 crore and another market at New Town at ₹5.27 crore.

The construction of environment-friendly temporary structures to get Blue Flag certification for Silver Beach, implementation of 24×7 water supply under Amrut 2.0 scheme at an estimated cost of ₹28.67 crore and construction of a modern bus terminus at ₹36 crore at Arisiperiyankuppam were also reviewed.

He also instructed officials of various departments falling under MAWS to complete the projects within stipulated time besides monitoring them.

Cuddalore District Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar and officials of line departments participated.
