Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday extended wishes on the occasion of National Farmers Day.
In a post on X, Mr. Stalin listed various initiatives taken by his government, including a separate Agriculture Budget, agricultural trade fairs, exhibitions, Uzhavan mobile app, and free electricity connections for farmers. He said Tamil Nadu continued to achieve record growth in agricultural production.
“We are fighting against the anti-farmer policies of the Union government and safeguarding farmers’ welfare. Protests will be held tomorrow (December 24) condemning the BJP government at the Centre for diluting the MGNREGA scheme and depriving agricultural labourers of their livelihood,” he said.
