The BJP has said that a private school teacher has punished a student for participating in the recent RSS route march in Belagavi. The teacher has tendered an apology hence.

BJP Mahila Morcha state unit secretary Sonali Sarnobat said that the teacher has displayed in class pictures of the boy marching, made a negative comment about it and asked him to leave class.

“This was nothing but punishing an innocent boy for participating in a route march,” she said.

The student informed his parents about this incident.

She warned that the BJP will organise a protest if the teacher did not apologise. The route march was on a Sunday and the student’s participation is his personal choice. But the teacher made it a political issue and humiliated the student. This is unacceptable,” Dr. Sarnobat said.

The teacher, Ms. Kaveri, has since tendered a public apology. She said that she did not intend to offend anyone or insult any organisation.
