The Catholic Association of Mysore will host its 21st Diocesan Carol Singing Competition at St. Philomena’s College Indoor Stadium, Bannimantap, here on December 7.
The event will be inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Mysore.
More than 100 teams are expected to participate, with the contest scheduled to run from morning till evening, drawing an estimated crowd of nearly 6,000 people.
The competition will be held under five categories – schools (classes VIII to XII), colleges, parishes, professionals, and institutional staff.
Teams may perform carols in Kannada, English, and other regional languages. The best-performing team in each category will receive a rolling trophy, a press release said.
As a part of the valedictory programme beginning at 6 p.m., meritorious Catholic students who have secured 90% and above in the 2024–25 academic year will be felicitated.
