Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy alleged that the BRS leaders, who had caused huge losses to the State exchequer during the previous BRS rule, were now shamelessly criticising the Congress government over the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).

Addressing a public meeting during his visit to Sattupalli on Sunday, Mr. Srinivas Reddy flayed the BRS leaders who had visited the Kannepalli pumphouse of the KLIP in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district earlier in the day.

“It is an ironic that those responsible for the present condition of the KLIP due to alleged irregularities in its construction are now levelling baseless allegations against the Congress government,” he said.

Alleging that the KLIP was constructed at a whopping cost of nearly ₹1 lakh crore during the BRS regime for commissions, Mr. Reddy said the BRS leaders have no moral right to criticise the Congress government.

“The Indiramma government is steadfastly striving for the welfare of the poor by implementing Indiramma housing and various other welfare schemes,” he said.

Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stones for development works worth ₹15 crore in Kallur.
