The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.V.N. Madhav directed party leaders and workers to celebrate Ugadi with traditional fervour across Andhra Pradesh, emphasising offerings to village deities and community participation as part of the festivities. He instructed that offerings be made on behalf of the party and that local leaders organise processions with drum beats involving villagers.

During an audio conference held on Wednesday, the BJP leader asked party cadre to conduct Ugadi celebrations at all party offices in a meaningful and people-centric manner. He directed that the traditional ‘Panchanga’ (almanac) reading be organised in district offices by inviting priests and holding prayers.

Mr. Madhav also called upon party leaders to visit prominent temples in villages across their respective districts and actively participate in the celebrations along with local communities. He noted that such initiatives, particularly during Ugadi and the new moon period, would help strengthen the party’s connection with people at the grassroots level.

Mr. Madhav said the celebrations should reflect the rich traditions of the State while fostering closer engagement between party workers and the public. He urged leaders to carefully plan the programmes to ensure wider participation and a spirit of devotion and unity.
