The Ernakulam Central police team probing the alleged abduction and assault of a youth employed in Bengaluru has arrested Anish Nasar alias ‘Attani Anish’, a native of Mattancherry. According to the police, the 43-year-old is accused in several criminal cases and is listed in the police rowdy-sheeter register.

He was arrested from his house on Saturday (June 6, 2026). The police registered a case suo motu in connection with the alleged crime, which Anish is accused of committing while out on bail in a previous case.

According to the police, Anish was recently involved in an assault case in which a group allegedly led by him attacked a youth at a tea shop on M.G. Road in Kochi. Following the incident, the police tracked him down to a hideout in Thrissur. He was subsequently remanded in judicial custody.

However, after being released on bail, he allegedly abducted the youth in a vehicle, assaulted him, and later posted a video of the incident on social media. The police had launched a manhunt after the accused went into hiding.
