A first of its kind, three-day national horticulture conclave titled “Bihar Nursery and Green-Tech Conclave 2026” will be organised between March 21-23 at Gyan Bhawan in Patna.
The conclave, which will be organised by Agriculture Department’s Horticulture Directorate, will be a technology-enabled event centred on the theme “Parampara Se Pragati Tak” (from tradition to progress). Its objective is to make horticulture and nursery management modern in Bihar.

Talking to media persons at the department’s headquarters, “Krishi Bhawan” on Thursday (March 19, 2026), Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav said that “this will be a first national-level conclave where farmers, who are engaged in traditional horticulture farming, will be given information about using modern techniques to increase their income. It will prove to be beneficial for farmers.”
New techniques and innovations being used in agriculture and horticulture will be showcased at the conclave, he added.
The conclave will be helpful in increasing the products and productivity of horticulture crops in Bihar besides adopting the innovations being used in horticulture across the country, Mr. Yadav said.
“Prominent nursery growers, agriculture universities, scientists from horticulture college, farmers and traders associated with nursery will be participating at the event where they will be exchanging their experiences and research work done on horticulture development,”he added.
Mr. Yadav, who was accompanied by Horticulture Director Abhishek Kumar, said the conclave will provide farmers and nursery operators a joint platform to learn about modern technology, new varieties of plants and to connect with market opportunities.
Stating that the Agriculture Roadmap has been implemented under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership that has led to rise in farmers’ income and Bihar’s prosperity, the Minister said that the conclave is an important initiative for bringing a change in Bihar’s rural economy.
“Focusing on climate friendly and more profitable horticulture crops will not only increase farmers’ income but will also establish the state as a new centre of agri-business,” he said.
“Udyan Pathshala” will be organised to make youths and farmers learn about modern techniques of horticulture, the Minister said and added that state’s new entrepreneurs and start ups will get an opportunity to present their business ideas and also the opportunity to get investment through “Chanakya Horti-Pitch” initiative.
The department will extend its full support in setting up the entrepreneurial venture of those whose ideas will be selected under “Chanakya Horti-Pitch” initiative, he said.
The modern form of horticulture will create new employment opportunities at local level for youths and women in the state, he asserted.
The Minister said that QR Code and interactive kiosks will be used during the conclave so that visitors get all the information on their mobile phones. “Green Innovation Zone” will be earmarked at the conclave to make the children learn about the environment and new things relating to agriculture, he added.
Mr. Yadav appealed to all the farmers, nursery operators, horticulturists, young entrepreneurs, start ups, researchers and common people of the state to participate at the conclave in large numbers.
