Three youth were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident at Circar Thopu Junction near Kurabalakota mandal headquarters of Annamayya district on Thursday (March 19, 2026). The victims were returning after attending the Goddess Chodeswari Temple Jathara in Madanapalle when an unidentified vehicle reportedly rammed into their motorcycle and fled the scene.

The deceased (in their 20s) were identified as Surendra of B. Kothakota and his friends Madhava and Mahesh, both residents of Madanapalle. Police said the latter two were accompanying Surendra to stay for a few days near Horsley Hills.

Personnel from the Mudivedu Police reached the spot in the early hours of Friday and shifted the bodies to the Government District Hospital in Madanapalle for postmortem. A case has been registered, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the vehicle involved.
