The Andhra Pradesh Class-IV Government Employees Association has urged the State government to fulfill its long-pending promises made to employees before the situation forces them to resort to protests.

In a statement on Sunday (October 12), Association State president S. Malleshwara Rao and general secretary Thota Chennappa Naidu expressed deep concern over the government’s continued delay in addressing the legitimate demands of employees. Several retired employees have passed away while waiting for their gratuity, leave encashment, and other arrears, they claimed.

“The government has failed to constitute the statutory 12th PRC Committee, release pending Dearness Allowances (DAs), or announce Interim Relief (IR). It is unfair to cause such prolonged suffering to employees who serve the State with dedication,” the leaders said.

They demanded that all vacant Class-IV posts in government offices be filled immediately and that the government prepare a clear roadmap for clearing pending dues. The association also decided to strengthen its organizational structure by forming district committees in all the newly created 13 districts to ensure effective representation of employees.

The State executive meeting of the association, held in Guntur under the leadership of president Malleshwara Rao and general secretary Chennappa Naidu, was attended by APJAC Amaravati State chairman Boppiraju Venkateswarlu as the chief guest. He assured that APJAC Amaravati would stand firmly with Class-IV employees in their struggle for justice.

Mr. Venkateswarlu  criticized the ruling coalition government for not implementing pre-election promises even after 15 months in power. He described it as deeply painful that retired employees are dying without receiving their rightful benefits and that families of deceased employees are being denied their dues.

He called for the immediate announcement of Interim Relief, appointment of the 12th PRC Commissioner, and release of the four pending DAs, besides ensuring cashless treatment under the Employees Health Scheme (EHS).
