Four persons sustained injuries when two groups clashed at Venkatagiripalem village of Penukonda mandal of Sri Sathya Sai district on Sunday (October 05, 2025).
According to the police, four youths attacked one Gopal, younger brother of Kesavaiah, a director in the A.P. State Yadava Corporation, injuring him grievously. When the supporters of Gopal tried to retaliate, three others were injured. The villagers staged a road blockage on the busy Bengaluru National Highway demanding justice. Circle-Inspector Raghavan on being alerted rushed to the spot and pacified the two groups.
The police said that the clash ensued due to an old rivalry between the two groups. A probe would be initiated into the circumstances that led to the clash, the police said.
Meanwhile, Gopal was rushed to the Government Hospital at Penukonda and later shifted to District Hospital at Anantapur.
