‘Drug-Free Andhra Pradesh’ should be a collective goal for all, and the youth possess the power to bring transformative changes in society, said Allam Srinivasa Rao, Vice-Chancellor of Vikrama Simhapuri University. He was speaking at a workshop titled ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’, organised by the NSS (National Service Scheme) unit of the university here on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).

Expressing concern over the impact of substance abuse, he said, “If students make up their minds, building a drug-free society is achievable. They should not confine themselves to academics alone but act as social soldiers, spreading awareness and bringing positive change.”

The Vice-Chancellor further said that the educational institutions should not only impart knowledge but also cultivate values, responsibility, and ethical behaviour.

State NSS Officer M. Sudhakar urged the NSS teams to ensure that the anti-drug message reaches every college and village in the State.
