Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will undertake a one-day tour of Nellore and Kadapa districts on Wednesday to participate in both welfare and religious programmes.

Mr. Naidu will begin his tour at Vinjamur in Nellore district, where he will distribute pensions to the beneficiaries under the NTR Bharosa scheme.

Later, the Chief Minister will travel to the Kodandarama Swamy temple at Ontimitta to participate in the Kalyanotsavam of Lord Sri Rama and Goddess Sita.

Since the NDA government assumed office in 2024, the NTR Bharosa pension scheme has emerged as one of the largest direct benefit transfer initiatives for the poor. Over the past 22 months, the government has disbursed ₹60,437 crore to the beneficiaries.

For April alone, ₹2,724 crore has been allocated to benefit 6.26 million pensioners across the State. In Nellore district, pensions worth ₹128 crore will be distributed to 2.91 lakh beneficiaries. In Udayagiri constituency, 39,330 individuals will receive ₹17.81 crore, while in Vinjamur mandal, ₹2.47 crore will be distributed among 5,484 beneficiaries.
