District Collector Sumit Kumar on Friday said top priority has been accorded to Jaladhara, a water security initiative, with faster and more focused implementation of the action plan to improve groundwater levels and strengthen irrigation systems across Chittoor district.
Reviewing the progress of the programme with mandal-level officials, the Collector stressed the need for practical planning at the field level and judicious use of available funds. He directed officials to first identify priority villages and then prepare detailed estimates for tank restoration and water conservation works.
