Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday (October 16, 2025) expressed happiness with Air India’s move to restore its flight services from the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.

In a post in ‘X,’ he said Air India had confirmed that international operations from the city were being scaled up.

Services to Dubai will resume four days a week starting October 28, and flights to Abu Dhabi will operate thrice weekly from December 3. The airline will introduce aircraft with a business class configuration on the Thiruvananthapuram route thrice daily.

Earlier, in a discussion with the Chief Minister, Air India officials had assured that the temporary cut in Kerala’s winter flight schedule would be restored soon. The Chief Minister also urged the airline to avoid any discrimination against Kerala’s public infrastructure and ensure fair connectivity for the State.

The Chief Minister convened a meeting against the backdrop of the cut in Air India services from the State in the winter schedule.
