Tiruvallur Town Police registered a case under six sections against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam candidate in Poonamallee Assembly constituency, Prakash, alias Kutty, for allegedly sexually harassing a woman functionary at an event attended by TVK general secretary Bussy Anand.

Prakash, known as Kutty, is currently serving as the Tiruvallur South district secretary of TVK. He was recently announced as the party’s candidate for the Poonamallee constituency when actor Vijay released the list of TVK candidates.

The alleged incident took place during a wedding reception held a few months ago in Tiruvallur, which was attended by TVK State general secretary Bussy Anand. Several party functionaries, including Prakash, were present at the event.

During the function, Prakash allegedly engaged in sexual harassment of a woman member of the party’s women’s wing, prompting a complaint. On Tuesday (March 31, 2026), the victim, accompanied by her husband, submitted a complaint at the Tiruvallur District Superintendent of Police’s office, seeking action against Prakash.

Based on her complaint, Tiruvallur Town Police have registered a case against Mr. Prakash and have initiated an investigation. Meanwhile, Prakash’s wife has also filed a counter-complaint at the SP office, alleging that the accusations are false and have been made due to denial of a party post, and has sought action against the complainant. Both complaints were being investigated, police said.
