India is set to formally join Pax Silica – the US-led effort on artificial intelligence and supply chain security on the sidelines of the Global AI Impact Summit being held in the national capital. Pax Silica is the U.S. Department of State’s flagship effort on AI and supply chain security, advancing a new economic security consensus among allies and trusted partners.

The State Department announced the visit of Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg to India from February 20-21, where he will join the U.S. delegation to the India AI Impact Summit led by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director, Michael Kratsios.

AI In Focus: The 2026 AI Impact Summit put in perspective

The AI Impact Summit’s expo has been extended by one day, to Saturday (February 21, 2026), so that attendees can visit with more flexible security arrangements after all the multilateral events at the venue wind up, IT Secretary S. Krishnan said in a press conference on Wednesday (February 18, 2026). Students and professionals, who have not been able to attend on weekdays, would be able to come easily, Mr. Krishnan said.
