Replying to a tweet by AP Chief Minister on Monday (February 16, 2026), in the early hours of Tuesday (February 17, 2026), Mr. Bill Gates said he was excited to witness Andhra Pradesh’s growth being accelerated through AI, technology, and innovation across key sectors such as health, agriculture, and education. He appreciated the State’s efforts in harnessing technology to improve governance and public service delivery.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday (February 16, 2026) showcased the State’s Real Time Governance System (RTGS) to Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, highlighting how technology is being leveraged to transform governance and improve citizens’ lives.

In a post on X on Monday (February 16, 2026), emphasising that “technology must serve humanity,” Mr. Naidu said the RTGS initiative has been instrumental in delivering speed in governance and enhancing the ease of doing business across Andhra Pradesh. He described the system as a key pillar in ensuring real-time monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and transparent service delivery.

Recalling his meeting with Mr. Gates in the 1990s, the Chief Minister noted that the interaction had inspired his long-standing vision of technology-driven citizen empowerment. He expressed delight in presenting the RTGS centre, which he said is powered by talented young professionals and supported by advanced technological infrastructure.

During the visit, the State also highlighted its flagship initiatives in education, agriculture, and healthcare, where artificial intelligence and digital innovations are being integrated to accelerate development outcomes.

The visit underscores Andhra Pradesh’s push towards becoming a leading technology-driven State, with RTGS positioned as a model for real-time, responsive governance.
