Women-centric hackathon held in Chennai

Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) hosted the Tamil Nadu Women in Science and Engineering (TNWISE- 2026), one of the state’s largest women-centric hackathons. Organised by TANCAM and co-sponsored by Titan, the event saw over 1,500 registrations, and a total of 396 teams participating. A total of 26 teams emerged as winners, who were awarded cash prizes worth ₹5.5 lakh. The winners will also be provided with internship opportunities through TANCAM, in collaboration with REC’s Industry–Institute Interaction Cell.  

Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, Chairperson, TIDCO, who inaugurated the event, encouraged participants to pursue innovation with confidence and purpose. S. M. Vijaya Deepan, CEO, TANCAM, C. Muthukrishnan, Advisor, Rajalakshmi Institutions, and S. N. Murugesan, Principal, Rajalakshmi Engineering College were present, said a press release here.
