Three Youth Congress activists were arrested for allegedly waving black flags at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Kilimanoor on Saturday evening in the wake of the Kilimanoor hit-and-run case that claimed the lives of a couple. They were later let out on bail.

At around 7.30 p.m, Youth Congress Attingal Assembly constituency general secretary Akhil A.P., Deepuraj, and Ajay J.G. waved black flags at the Chief Minister’s convoy that was passing by. This protest follows a hunger strike by Youth Congress activists in Kilimanoor after Rajith and Ambika died in an accident there.

The black flags were waved near the Youth Congress protest pandal against the alleged medical negligence at Government Medical College Hospital following which Rajith reportedly died a few days ago and the alleged police negligence in investigating the case.

The protesters were rounded up and arrested by the police and later released on bail.
