5.4°C recorded in Telangana’s Asifabad; cold wave alert in 12 dists on December 12

In Telangana, 12 districts are under cold wave alert on Friday

The cold wave in Telangana is set to continue as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the alert for 12 districts for Friday (December 12, 2025). Under the weather conditions, the lowest of 5.4°C was recorded in Tiryani of Kumaram Bheem Asifabad between Wednesday and Thursday mornings. 

12 districts under cold wave alert

The cold wave alert was issued for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Mahbubabad, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.

The lowest of 5.4°C in Asifabad was followed by 6.1°C in Bheempoor of Adilabad and 6.4°C in Moinabad of Rangareddy districts, 6.5°C in Jharasangam of Sangareddy and 7.0°C in Akbarpet-Bhoompally of Siddipet. Less than 10°C were recorded in 26 districts, according to Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) data. 

Hyderabad temperature

The lowest temperature in Medchal-Malkajgiri was 8.8°C and 11°C in Hyderabad. On Friday, the city and its surroundings may experience mist or hazy conditions during morning or night hours. “Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C during the next 3 days. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 12°C respectively,” as per IMD.
