A total of 2,448 booth level officers, out of 68,467 BLOs, have successfully achieved 100% distribution, collection, and digitisation of enumeration forms in their respective polling station areas for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Archana Patnaik said on Wednesday.
The respective District Election Officers have honoured the BLOs for their commitment and diligence, she said in a release
“This recognition underscores the crucial role played by BLOs in safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of the electoral roll, and highlights their significant contribution to the electoral process,” she said.
The BLOs were the primary field-level functionaries appointed by the Election Commission to support the preparation and continuous updation of the electoral rolls. They serve as the direct interface between the election administration and the electors within each polling station area.
“They work in coordination with the BLO Supervisors, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and Electoral Registration Officers to ensure that all activities are completed within the stipulated timelines.”
