The construction of 14 multi-purpose godowns has been completed in West Godavari district with aid from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). These facilities will provide 500 metric tonnes storage space. An additional ten godowns are expected to be ready in the coming months.
During a review meeting with the Cooperative department on Tuesday, District Collector Ch. Nagarani said: “As many as 98 cooperative societies have obtained membership of the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samithi Limited (BBSSL) in West Godavari district, and 23 more societies have applied for membership.” The BBSSL is a multi-state cooperative society that aims to increase agricultural productivity and promote quality seeds.
