The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, alleging that the sanctity and reputation of the institution had been severely damaged under his leadership.

Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, the former TTD Chairman accused Naidu of encouraging “unruly elements” and allowing inappropriate activities in the sacred Tirumala premises. He alleged that instead of maintaining spiritual decorum, the temple environment has been disturbed by anti-social activities, hurting the sentiments of devotees.

Mr. Reddy further claimed that women who protested against the alleged misconduct were attacked by individuals linked to Naidu. He described the incidents as “deeply disturbing” and alleged that cases were falsely filed against the victims. He also raised concerns over alleged irregularities in darshan ticket allocations, claiming that influential groups were misusing the system for financial gain through black marketing.

Questioning the role of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr. Reddy criticised the State government for its “inaction” and accused it of shielding those responsible. He demanded that B.R. Naidu take moral responsibility and resign immediately, failing which the government should remove him from the post.

Mr. Reddy asserted that YSRCP would continue to support public protests until justice was delivered and the dignity of TTD is restored.
