Youth Congress Kannur district president Vijil Mohanan on Sunday (March 1, 2026) alleged that Health Minister Veena George was “hallucinating” by repeatedly claiming that Kerala Students Union (KSU) and Youth Congress workers had attacked her, despite what he termed the collapse of that narrative

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Mohanan said the Minister was “imagining” incidents that never occurred.

“Youth Congress workers who did not even go near the vehicle are accused of hitting the car, and KSU workers are said to have strangled her. These are baseless claims,” he said. Citing the recently inaugurated International Research Institute of Ayurveda at Kalliad in Padiyoor panchayat, Mr. Mohanan claimed that none of the works had been completed. As per the first-phase plan, a 100-bed hospital, a 9,000 sq. ft. palm leaf manuscript preservation building, and a 300 sq. ft. nursery block were to be ready, he said.

“Only the facade was finished for the function. Plastering, flooring and electrification works remain incomplete,” he alleged. Mr. Mohanan also remarked that those who once mocked the trial run at Kannur International Airport were now silent. District general secretary Mithun Maroli was also present at the press meet.
