Expelled BJP member Basanagouda R. Patil Yatnal on Wednesday embarrassed the BJP in the Assembly by again targeting its State leadership and accusing it of being biased in taking up the fight against alleged corruption by Ministers.
Though Mr. Yatnal upheld the stand of the BJP by supporting the VB-G RAM G Act and hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing about the legislation, he alleged bias in the State BJP’s fight against alleged corruption by Ministers.
Referring to the BJP’s protest seeking resignation of Excise Minister R.B. Thimmapur over alleged corruption in his department, he maintained that the party should have shown a similar approach with respect to alleged corruption by other Ministers.
“Permission was denied by the party leadership for taking out a padayatra from Ballari against the misuse of funds meant for the Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation. Similarly several other Ministers are facing corruption allegations. The party should not have any bias, especially caste-based bias, while taking up fight against corruption.,” he said.
