Representatives of the World Bank have appreciated the Andhra Pradesh government’s transformative efforts in improving learning outcomes, strengthening school infrastructure, promoting digital learning and enhancing teacher capacity, said Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao.
Mr. Rao, who is attending a three-day workshop titled ‘Strengthening Client Capacity for Impact’ (SCCI), organised by the World Bank Group (WBG), which began on Tuesday in New Delhi, presented the progress of various education initiatives being implemented by the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department under Samagra Shiksha with the support of the World Bank.
In a statement, he said that the World Bank representatives lauded the remarkable progress and impactful reforms undertaken by the State to improve the quality of school education. “The World Bank also praised Andhra Pradesh’s flagship SALT (Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation) programme, describing it as an outstanding example of how a Programme-for-Results (PforR) initiative can be effectively implemented at the grassroots level,” he said.
The three-day workshop, being held from July 7 to 9, 2026, aims to strengthen implementation capacity and enhance the effectiveness of World Bank-supported projects across India. Besides Mr. Rao, SALT Project Coordinator V. Satish Reddy is also attending the event.
On the first day, the workshop focussed on introduction to the World Bank Group (WBG) and the India Country partnership framework, a QR code-based knowledge pre-test was conducted to assess participants’ understanding and technical sessions covered the project lifecycle, implementation challenges in India, communication and stakeholder engagement and financial management.
On the second day (July 8), the sessions will focus on procurement procedures and the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), while on the third day (July 9), discussions will cover project monitoring and evaluation, finance plus operations and the newly introduced D-Ready approach. Participants will also take part in an “Integrated Case Study – Group Work and a Knowledge Post-Test.”
“The workshop has been designed to provide practical, implementation-oriented learning rather than being limited to theoretical discussions,” said Mr. Rao, adding that international best practices shared during the workshop would help Andhra Pradesh further accelerate the transparent and effective implementation of development projects.
