Bharatesh Education Trust’s Global Business School, Belagavi, organised a one-day workshop on branding and marketing communication for MBA students on Wednesday.

Pawan Kulkarni, independent brand, marketing and business strategy consultant, was the resource person.

He spoke to students on topics such as How Brands Really Work – understanding why some products become memorable, trusted and successful brands; How Marketers Think – looking beyond the obvious to understand the strategy, creativity and thinking behind successful marketing campaigns; Consumer Insights and Behaviour – exploring why consumers behave the way they do and how these insights influence brand building; and Brand Strategy and Communication – connecting business objectives, brand positioning and communication to create market impact.

He used real-world case studies, brand videos, advertising campaigns, surprising facts, interactive discussions and engaging exercises. Students also explored examples from brands such as Dove, Coca-Cola, P&G, Tata, Nike, Apple and Starbucks, among others. An interactive session was held later.

Padmapriya R. Katagal, associate professor, marketing, coordinated the event. Faculty members, staff and students were present, according to a release.
