A 48-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the veranda of a beverage outlet in Kannur on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Shelvi of Thottada Samajwadi Colony.
Eyewitnesses said they alerted the police when they found Shelvi lying unconscious on the veranda of Parakandy beverage outlet. Relatives and local residents gathered at the spot soon after the incident.
A police team led by Kannur Town Sub-Inspector V.V. Deepti reached the spot and conducted preliminary inquiries.
The police are examining CCTV footage from nearby establishments to trace Shelvi’s movements before her death.
Shelvi is survived by her children, Sanoj and Sajida. The body has been shifted for post-mortem examination.
