A woman constable, A. Jayasanthi, was lauded for her timely response to clear traffic on the Samarlakota-Kakinada road on Saturday night for an ambulance carrying a patient. A video showing Ms. Jayasanthi monitoring traffic while holding her baby boy in her hands, went viral on Sunday.
In an official release, East Godavari Superintendent of Police D. Narasimha Kishore said that Ms. Jayasanthi swung into action after the ambulance go stuck in traffic while she was on her way home after duty. Ms. Jayasanthi is serving in Rangampeta police station in East Godavari district.
“Ms. Jayasanthi is not under Kakinada district jurisdiction but has responded quickly as demanded by the situation on humanitarian grounds”, said Mr. Narasimha Kishore. SP Mr. Narasimha Kishore has declared a special reward to Ms. Jayasanthi for her commitment and social responsibility. EOM
