Monday was the first day of the winter session of the Legislature and it was adjourned to January 2, 2026 At the BAC meeting chaired by the Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and attended by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA T. Former Irrigation Minister Harish Rao told reporters that his party had demanded that the Government hold the winter session for 15 days, but the Speaker agreed for only a week and promised to reconvene the BAC later.

Mr. Rao said he had requested the Speaker to allow the BRS to make a power point presentation in the Assembly. “The Speaker has said he would examine the request. In the past, the Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, as the CLP leader, had boycotted the House when he was denied permission. Should we also do the same, if permission is not given?” he questioned.

The former BRS Minister regretted that in the last two years, only six days were earmarked for Question Hour and this year, so far, only 15 days of session were held. He demanded that the Speaker take up the constitution of various committees and pointed out that he had raised protocol related issues and decried delay in providing the agenda.

The BJP floor leader Mr. Maheshwar Reddy said his party had requested that the Assembly sessions be held for at least 20 days. He explained that the party sought discussions on 32 key issues.
