India captain Suryakumar Yadav has announced that he will donate his entire match fee from the just-concluded Asia Cup to the country’s Armed Forces and the victims of Pahalgam terror attack.

India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final to win the trophy on Sunday (September 28, 2025) night here.

“I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts. Jai Hind,” the 35-year-old posted on ‘X’ after the high-voltage win.

BCCI announced ₹21 crore prize money for Asia Cup-winning Indian team and support staff.

I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts 🙏🏽

“I have never seen this before, winning team not receiving trophy,” said Suryakumar Yadav on Indian team not being presented Asia Cup. “When the game is done, only champions will be remembered and not picture of a trophy,” added Yadav.

“We took this call on the ground. No one told us to do this,” he said on not accepting Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi.

“For me, my players and support staff are the real trophies”, said Suryakumar Yadav.
