Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will launch a fresh edition of health outreach scheme ‘Sebaashray’ at his constituency Diamond Harbour from December 1.

“Just 15 days to go! Under the leadership and initiative of @abhishekaitc, #Sebaashray 2 will commence on December 1, 2025, bringing with it a renewed pledge to deliver compassionate, reliable, and quality healthcare to every household in Diamond Harbour,” the Trinamool Congress posted on its social media.

The West Bengal ruling party also added that this “edition of the health camp has been thoughtfully designed to ensure a seamless and dignified experience for all”. “It will bring together specialist doctors, provide free essential medicines, facilitate critical diagnostic tests, and establish a streamlined referral system so that no individual is left without the care they need,” the Trinamool Congress said.

The announcement which comes ahead of the Assembly polls in the State assumes significance as it is an attempt to reach out to the electorate in State’s South 24 Parganas. The Trinamool general secretary had in January 2025, launched the ‘Sebaashray’ an initiative under which hundreds of free medical camps were set up across his Lok Sabha constituency Diamond Harbour.

Mr. Banerjee has been representing Diamond Harbour since 2014 and in 2024 he won Lok Sabha polls by a margin of over 7 lakh votes. The ‘Sebaashray’ health camps witnessed large participation from locals and went on for several weeks. With such initiatives centred in his Lok Sabha constituency Diamond Harbour the Trinamool’s second in command has also tried to make his political mark, apart from the schemes of the West Bengal government.

Only a few weeks ago, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari had set up health camps in his Assembly constituency Nandigram and the Trinamool Congress had said that the BJP leader was copying the ‘Sebaashray’ model of Abhishek Banerjee.
