The State government is planning to establish incubation centres in Warangal and Nalgonda, modelled on the lines of Hyderabad’s famous T-Hub, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said here on Saturday.

The facilities have been proposed as a measure to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship across the districts, he said after inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of the Kakatiya University Pharma Alumni Association at Nampally Exhibition Grounds here.

The government would soon sign MoUs with Kakatiya University and Mahatma Gandhi University to set up these incubation centres. The initiative is a part of the government’s broader vision to transform Telangana into an innovation hub and a pharmacy of purpose, where science and humanism merge to create meaningful, socially beneficial innovation.

₹54,000 crore investments

“When science is infused with empathy, every innovation becomes a force for social good,” Mr. Sridhar Babu said, adding that Telangana is building a 360-degree life sciences ecosystem that connects research with markets and policy with patients.

The State has attracted over ₹54,000 crore in new investments in the Life Sciences sector in 18 months, including from global pharma companies such as Eli Lilly, which is setting up a presence in the State. The pace of growth reflects investor confidence in Telangana’s progressive policies and generating new employment opportunities for youth.

Addressing young innovators, he said history remembers not the number of patents one holds, but the number of lives touched by one’s innovation.

Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy cited the example of Pailla Malla Reddy, a native of Sankishala village in Nalgonda district, who has emerged as a leading entrepreneur in the global pharmaceutical sector and currently serves as Chairman of Bactolac Pharmaceuticals in New York, with an estimated market worth of ₹10,000 crore. “Young pharma students should draw inspiration from his journey,” he said.

Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor K. Pratap Reddy participated.
