The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams management will take all possible steps to spread the glory of Lord Venkateswara across the country by adopting multiple formats, including the construction of temples in regions where the Lord of Seven Hills is not yet represented, said TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal.
Unfurling the national flag at the TTD administrative headquarters here on Monday as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, Mr. Singhal outlined key initiatives aimed at propagating the sanctity of the Tirumala temple and improving facilities for devotees.
He said Srivari temples would be built across the country to enable devotees from distant regions to worship the Lord more frequently. Development works at the Srivari temples in Venkatapalem and Amaravati, including a second Praakaram, a Kalyana Mandapam and a Rajagopuram, are under way with a financial outlay of ₹92 crore and are targeted for completion within two years.
Apart from developing an integrated township at Alipiri for the benefit of pilgrims, the TTD has constructed the fifth Pilgrim Amenities Complex at Tirumala at a cost of ₹102 crore. The TTD will continue to provide nearly two lakh free meals every day to devotees at Tirumala.
Mr. Singhal said ₹130 crore had been invested to upgrade TTD educational institutions with smart classrooms, digital learning systems and additional hostel facilities, benefitting over 1,080 students. In the healthcare sector, ₹48 crore has been allocated to complete the Sri Padmavati Institute of Children’s Heart Care Centre.
He noted that Srivari Seva, the volunteer service programme, has completed 25 years, with participation from over 17 lakh volunteers. In this context, he referred to the proposed launch of Srivari Vaidya Seva to enable medical professionals to voluntarily provide treatment to ailing patients.
To protect Tirumala’s fragile ecology, the TTD has adopted a 10-year green action plan focusing on expansion of forest cover, biodiversity restoration, development of herbal gardens and cultivation of teak trees for temple requirements.
Additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Joint EO V. Veerabrahmam, Joint EO for Health and Education A. Sharat, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer K.V.
