Police launch drone surveillance for the ongoing Akkamamba Jathara at Kalyanadurg in Anantapur district.
The police said they have made elaborate security arrangements for the ongoing week-long Sri Akkamamba Jatara in Kalyandurg, which is witnessing a heavy footfall of devotees.
Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh told the media that the police have adopted advanced surveillance measures, with drone-assisted monitoring emerging as a key feature this year.
The SP said that drones are being deployed for continuous aerial surveillance over the temple premises and other crowded junctions. Police personnel have intensified crowd management, regulated traffic movement and monitored parking areas to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities, he said.
Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic locations, and special police forces have been deployed across the town. Shakti teams are also on duty to ensure the safety of women devotees. Officials urged the public to cooperate and report suspicious activity promptly, the SP said.
Volunteers and emergency services teams have been stationed to respond to any medical or safety needs.
