Three injured as cut outs collapses ahead of house distribution ceremony in Hubballi

Three Persons including a woman, have escaped miraculously with some injuries as hug cut outs erected at the mega house distribution event off Mantur Road in Hubballi collapsed on them on Saturday (January 24, 2026) morning.

The mishap occurred ahead of the start of the event in which Chief Minister Siddarmaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and a host of Ministers are participating. Gutsy wind was reportedly the reason for the collapse of the huge cut outs.

The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital, where they are recuperating. Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar, Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed visited the spot, and subsequently Mr. Shashikumar and District Health Officer Dr. Satish Honakeri visited KMCRI Hospital to enquire about their health of the injured.

Dr. Honakeri gave the names of the injured as Manjunath, Shantha and Shankar. Of the injured two have been shifted a private hospital, while one is recuperating at KMCRI. All the injured are out of danger. The injured woman Shantha Kyaratti had come to participate in the programme while the other two are workers.
