The 14th edition of the annual Global Diabetes Convention will get under way at Kovalam on Friday (July 10, 2026), bringing together leading diabetes specialists, physicians, researchers, nutritionists, diabetes educators, and health-care professionals.

“Helping You Choose the Best in Care” is the focal theme of the three-day convention, organised by Jothydev’s Professional Education Forum (JPEF). Over 2,500 health-care professionals are expected to take part in the convention.

Health Minister K. Muraleedharan will deliver the inaugural address at the convention on July 11.

Among the key highlights of the event will be sessions on next-generation obesity therapies, new medications such as Baxdrostat and Vicadrostat, advances in Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), AI-driven personalised diabetes care, automated insulin delivery systems, stem cell research, Teplizumab for Type 1 diabetes, once-weekly basal insulin, inhaled insulin, geriatric diabetes management, and body composition analysis for precision metabolic care.
