‘The history, glory, and culture of Raichur district will be displayed in three-day Utsav’

Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil has said that the most anticipated Raichur Zilla Utsav would display the glory, history, and culture of the district to the outside world in the three-day event.

He was addressing the audience after inaugurating the Raichur Zilla Utsav 2026, organised by the district administration, zilla panchayat, and various government departments at the University of Agriculture Sciences (UAS) in Raichur on Wednesday.

Dr. Patil, who is also the district in-charge Minister, said that Raichur District, which is also called “Ede Dhore Nadu” in the regional language, which means the area between two rivers- Krishna and Tungabhadra- has been recognised for its lion’s share contribution in paddy and power production to the State, he said.

The State government has systematically planned to organise the event with the comprehensive efforts of the officers in every department concerned. “I would appeal to the people of the district to take part in the event and enjoy every programmes, including cultural activities, to take them forward to the next generation,” Dr. Patil added.

Minister for Minor Irrigation N.S. Boseraju has said that the utsav couldn’t be organised earlier for various reasons, and finally because of writers, artists, and media persons, and members of various sectors who expressed their wish to hold the event, the district was now able to introduce the utsav to the outside world, with a variety of programmes and cultural events.

Chairman of the Karnataka ST Development Board and MLS Basana Gowda Daddal, Chairman of the Karnataka State Industries Infrastructure Development Corporation and MLAs Hampana Gowda Badarli, Manappa Vajjal, and Shivaraj Patil, and MLC A. Vasant Kumar also spoke on the occasion.

Raichur Urban Development Authority Chairman Rajshekhar, District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee Chairman Pamaiah Murari, UAS Vice-Chancellor Hanumanthappa, Deputy Commissioner Nitish K., CEO Eshwar Kumar Kandoo, Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri, City Corporation Commission Jubin Mohapatra, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivanand Bhajantri, Shila Medicare Chairman Vishnukant, and others were present.
