Former Rajya Sabha member and BJP senior leader T.G. Venkatesh said it was commendable that the Centre announced December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as Good Governance Day.
Mr. Venkatesh, along with a large group of leaders, garlanded the statue of Vajpayee at Gowri Gopal Hospital Centre in Kurnool on the occasion of the former Prime Minister’s 101st birth anniversary, on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he described Vajpayee as a great national leader and as a statesman of global repute.
The BJP leader said that the discipline, oratory skills and political wisdom of Vajpayee should be emulated by the leaders of the present generation. “There is a lot to learn from the great leader’s life. His contributions and service to the nation will always be remembered,” Mr. Venkatesh said.
