Amid concerns over the availability of cooking gas, the Mandya district administration has clarified that there is no disruption in the supply of domestic LPG, and distribution is continuing smoothly as per daily demand.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kumar, who chaired a review meeting with officials of major LPG distributors, including Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, and Indian Oil, directed agencies to ensure uninterrupted supply across the district. “There is absolutely no shortage or interruption in domestic LPG supply. People need not panic or fall prey to rumours,” he said.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all 34 LPG distributors in the district to strictly adhere to government guidelines. Food Department officials have been directed to conduct regular inspection of stock at distribution points.

Warning against malpractices, Dr. Kumar said strict legal action would be taken against black marketing or illegal sale of LPG cylinders. He also said that consumers who have made advance bookings must be supplied cylinders on priority, in accordance with norms.

Essential services, including anganwadis, schools, hospitals, and government hostels, must be prioritised in LPG distribution to ensure their routine functioning is not affected, he added.

Superintendent of Police Dr. V. J. Shobharani, Food Department Deputy Director Prateek Hegde, company officials, and LPG distributors from various taluks were present at the meeting.
