Ahead of the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation on Friday (January 16, 2025) announced that it would deliver gold (jaggery) prasadam to devotees unable to travel to Medaram.

The biennial jatara is scheduled to be held from January 28 at Medaram. The TGSRTC reiterated that lakhs of devotees gather at the tribal goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma and offer gold as part of long-standing custom. Officials said that recognising the difficulties faced by elderly devotees, those grappling with health issues, and others who are unable to travel, the Corporation has developed a plan to deliver the prasadam at homes.

The transport juggernaut will work with the Endowments Department and devotees will receive a sealed prasadam packet containing a small gold offering, photographs of the goddesses, jaggery, turmeric, and kumkum for ₹299. Devotees can book the service through the TGSRTC Logistics website or at designated TGSRTC logistics counters across the State.
