Terry Fox Run held to raise funds for cancer research

The 17^th edition of the Terry Fox Run was held at Island Grounds on Sunday with over 5,000 registrations. The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME), was aimed at raising funds for cancer research at the Cancer Institute (WIA) in Adyar. The event was flagged off by former DGP C. Sylendra Babu and actor Harish Kalyan. Rotary district leaders, doctors from the cancer centre, and members of the Dube family, who initiated the run in Chennai in 2009, were also present. RCME president Balaji Sreenivasan said the run had grown into a community movement supporting cancer research.
