Deputy Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday said that the extensive repair and replacement of all 33 crest gates of the Tungabhadra Dam are in their final stages and that the State government is aiming to complete the works and inaugurate the project by May 15.

After inspecting the ongoing works at the dam, Mr. Shivakumar told mediapersons that the repairs undertaken following the washing away of Gate No 19 in August 2024 have reached an advanced stage, with only minor works remaining.
