The Red Sanders’ Anti‑Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) arrested 18 persons on charges of smuggling and seized 16 logs, two cars, axes, and saw blades from their possession, on the Proddatur-Jammalamadugu route in Kadapa district on Saturday. Headed by L. Subbarayudu and SP P. Srinivas, the task force team conducted vehicle inspections on the route on Friday. While checking the vehicles at Peddasettipalli, the team saw occupants of two cars trying to flee. However, the officials chased and caught them. Upon checking the vehicles, the task force team found the logs and other articles. The accused were identified as residents of Tamil Nadu. Along with the seized goods, they were taken to the Tirupati RSASTF Police Station. Investigation is underway.
