T.N. government sets up helpline to aid people stranded in violence-hit Nepal

The Tamil Nadu government has set up a helpline to aid people from the State, including students, stranded in violence-hit Nepal. The helpline set up in Tamil Nadu House in New Delhi could be reached at: 011-24193300 (telephone), 9289516712 (Whatsapp)or prcofficetnh@gmail.com (e-mail).

An official release said a total of 116 people from Tamil Nadu, who were on a tour to Nepal, returned to India on September 11. Officials in the Tamil Nadu House were coordinating with officials in the Union Ministry of External Affairs and in the Embassy of India in Nepal, it said.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has instructed for setting up the helpline to assist in obtaining information regarding the status of Tamils and to aid in their safe return, it said.
