The Hindu Year Book 2026, a comprehensive source of reference for the year 2025, providing chronological, contextual, and factual information on key events that occupied public attention, brought out by the Special Publications division of The Hindu Group, was launched in Chennai on Wednesday (December 31, 2025).

The book was launched by T. Udhayachandran, Finance Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of Nirmala Lakshman, Chairperson of The Hindu Group Publishing Private Limited (THGPPL); N. Ram, Director, THGPPL; N. Ravi, Director, Kasturi and Sons Limited; K. Venugopal, Chairperson, Kasturi and Sons Limited; Rohit Ramesh, Director, THGPPL; and Suresh Nambath, Editor, The Hindu at the newspaper’s head office on Anna Salai.

Mr. Udhayachandran said The Hindu was inseparable from the lives of people in Tamil Nadu. He recalled that whenever the newspaper underwent layout changes, he would often be among the first to comment on them.

He also said he frequently urged civil service aspirants to read the editorials of The Hindu to understand issues and take a stand. “A bureaucrat should not hold extreme views and should remain balanced. That is what The Hindu does,” he said.

He also recalled that when he was involved in designing school education curricula and textbooks, he would often cite the design of Frontline, a sister publication of The Hindu. He said Frontline had set a model with powerful photographs that immediately captured attention and conveyed the message, even before the reader engaged fully with the text.

The book draws from both news reports and special articles published in The Hindu, in addition to select year-end overviews written specifically for the volume. The book is priced at ₹499, with a special launch offer of ₹399 for a few days. It can be purchased at The Hindu’s online bookstore at https://publications.thehindugroup.com/bookstore/ or by scanning the QR code below.
