T.N. Assembly election: Former Ministers B. Valarmathi, S. Gokula Indira in AIADMK’s final list of candidates

In its final list of candidates announced for the April 23 Assembly poll in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK on Sunday (March 29, 2026) named two former Ministers among the list of 17 candidates. It fielded B. Valarmathi in Thousand Lights and S. Gokula Indira in Anna Nagar. Former MP S.R. Vijayakumar was named party candidate in Villivakkam.

It fielded P. Santhanakrishnan in Kolathur, where the DMK has named its president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin as its candidate. Adhi Rajaram has been fielded in Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni where the DMK has retained Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin as its candidate.

Former MLAs N. Murugumaran (Thittakudi), Virugai V.N. Ravi (Virugambakkam), B. Sathyanarayanan (Thiagaraya Nagar), M.K. Ashok (Velachery), K.P. Kandan (Sholinganallur), M.S.R. Rajavarman (Thiruchuli) have been announced as candidates.

Party functionary Royapuram Mano has been fielded in Harbour to take on DMK’s local strongman and HR&CE Minister P.K. Sekarbabu. R.S. Rajesh was named as candidate for Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar. S. Saravanan was named for Alandur and A. Porkodi was named for Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar. Abhishek Rangasamy and Thana. Vimal were named for Egmore and Alangudi Assembly constituencies respectively.
