Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided to conduct aerial survey of the rain-affected Warangal and Husnabad on Friday (October 31, 2025) to obtain first-hand information on the extent of losses due to incessant rains that lashed different parts of the State under the influence of cyclone Montha.
Though the aerial visit was planned for Thursday, it could not be taken up in view of the inclement weather conditions. The Chief Minister said the Meteorological department has forecast the influence of the cyclone on 16 districts and the Government had initiated steps in advance to minimise loss of lives and property. However, the unexpected fury of the cyclone had caused severe difficulties to farmers, he said participating in a video conference with senior officials and Collectors of the affected districts on Thursday.
The Chief Minister wanted the officials to be on alert and monitor the situation as it was harvesting season. The district Collectors should cancel the leaves of officials and staff and deploy them on field duties while the Energy department officials should ensure that there was no interruption in power supply due to gales.
He directed officials to caution people not to venture out unless for emergency work, and medical camps should be set up wherever necessary. Traffic on damaged bridges and causeways should be diverted and the officials concerned were asked to utilise the services of HYDRAA wherever there was a need.
The situation should be monitored on round-the-clock basis and the Ministers should coordinate with district Collectors and administration in taking up relief works, he said. The Collectors should inform the in-charge Ministers about the situation from time to time and steps should be taken to alert locals to ensure that there was no scope for occurrence of unwarranted incidents.
The Irrigation department officials should measure the inflows and outflows from the projects from time to time and steps should be taken to avoid loss of lives, property and crop damages.
