As part of Swachh Survekshan 2025–26, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has launched Swachh Category Competitions to promote cleanliness, public health, and scientific waste management.

The initiative aims to ensure active participation of citizens and institutions in maintaining hygiene across the city.

Competitions will be held in nine categories — Swachh School, Swachh Market Association, Swachh Government Office, Swachh Hotel, Swachh Street Vendor Zone, Swachh Auto/Taxi Stand, Swachh Hospital, Swachh RWA and Apartment Association, and Swachh Transport Hub.

MCC Commissioner Sheikh Tanveer Asif released the posters for the competitions on January 20.

According to officials, evaluation will be based on overall cleanliness, source segregation of waste, reduction in plastic usage, hygiene management practices, and public participation.

The last date for registration is January 26. The date for the prize distribution ceremony will be announced later. Environmental engineers and health iInspectors have been appointed to coordinate and monitor the competitions.

Interested participants can contact their respective MCC zone offices for details. The MCC Commissioner has urged citizens and institutions to participate actively to help make Mysuru a cleaner and greener city.
